Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hr Blush ($25) is a strong contender against infamous blush lines like the ones by NARS or MAC. They have great pigmentation, natural ingredients, various shades, good packaging, and long time wear.
Colors. Tarte benefits from having a long-running and successful cheek stain line. A lot of those colors have been repeated. The pigmentation is high. I actually needed to learn to soften my hand and lessen my application upon switching to this blush because it was getting overdone quickly.
Durability. This blush’s best selling point is that it lasts a really long time. At the end of the day, my blush is still going strong. Even if it doesn’t last the full 12 hours, it absolutely stays on longer than any other blush I’ve tried, including NARS.
Orgasm Dupe. A Sephora/Tarte representative said that Blissful is the closest Orgasm shade, as a “warm peach”. I have to disagree – Blissful looks more like a true pink. A closer match would be Glisten, a peachy pink with shimmer. Well, is Glisten a dupe for NARS Orgasm blush? I say, they’re like fraternal twins, but not identical. The color is similar, but Orgasm blends better and the glitter is more prominent on Glisten (and not in the good, subtle way that Orgasm does glitter).
Overall, Glisten is a healthy blush dupe for Orgasm for 95% of NARS fans. But for the 5% of fanatics who swear by NARS’ je ne sais quoi, it won’t be as good.
